Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) recertification includes a series of algorithmic medical procedures and techniques designed for the urgent treatment of cardiac arrest, stroke and similar life threatening cardiac emergencies. The course expands upon basic life support with more advanced skills such as Electrocardiogram (ECG) rhythm interpretation for core ACLS rhythms, airway management and appropriate adjuncts, ACLS drugs and pharmacology, practical application of ACLS rhythms and drugs, and effective high-performance team skills for Basic Life Support and ACLS. Many hospitals and other medical facilities require this advanced training for anyone who may work with cardiac patients.
This course is nationally accredited in joint partnership with the Postgraduate Institution of Medicine. Upon course completion, you will receive 4 CEU/CME credits.
Because good Basic Life Support (BLS) skills are foundational to ACLS skills, a BLS certification is strongly encouraged, or in most cases, a pre-requisite for taking the ACLS certification. In addition, participants who enter the ProACLS course are required to have already obtained the basic knowledge and skills in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Most people take a ACLS course as a requirement for their job. As a result, people who need a ACLS course are people who work in an industry where there is some degree of risk either to themselves or others. Whether you work in healthcare or another profession, ProTrainings has the course that is suitable for your occupation!
